I’ve always been interested in people. It’s really been a running thread throughout my career: early on as a yoga teacher, and later on in social services. Later, when I began working in human resources, it became immediately apparent that understanding people really is the bedrock of creating organizations that are creative, dedicated, and resilient. Every aspect of our work life- our offices (back when we actually left our homes), our protocols, our compensation, and our management to name a few- are parts of a system that were other built with human beings in mind or not.

Human resources as a discipline are the sum total of everything necessary to employ talented people to execute the company’s business plan. Broadly speaking, it involves hiring, developing, managing, evaluating, compensating and protecting the people people who sacrifice most of their waking time to the company they choose to work for.
